
Individual motivation, rewards & careers
How can managers use individual differences to engage and support their team? Using the Career Motivation cards, participants select their two highest motivators, and identify what this means in terms of the development and careers they would be interested in. What would a career plan look like for someone with Career Building + Challenge or Life Commitment + Variety? We explore different ways that you can reward people with different motivations. Managers take away a pack of cards to initiate 1-to-1 discussions with their team members, to better understand their motivation and how to engage them.
Strengths-based performance
The Gallup research into what motivates people at work shows that ‘Being able to use my strengths every day’ is the most important reason why people stay in a job, and deliver high performance. Using a Talent Profile exercise we help people to identify their natural strengths, and how these could be used more. We also look at weaknesses, and whether these always need to be developed, or whether they can be managed. We look at team profiling and focus managers on how to get everyone using their strengths to make the team more effective.
Careers & development
Staff surveys often reveal that employees want more focus on their development and careers. Using the Career Tactics card pack, we explore 48 career tactics that high fliers adopt to create career opportunities for themselves. How can this be used with your team? We also tackle the question ‘How can I get my team developing and improving, while taking little managerial time?’
Engagement diagnosis
Using an engagement checklist that focuses on what a team leader can actually see happening in their team, we explore the key areas that need to be tackled for engagement to improve, and work in small groups on practical tactics to tackle each area where teams may be less engaged.
